Re reading parts of Nervous Conditions that I didn't understand- 45 minutes
"The Wise Wide-Reciever"- 2 hours (finished)
For my last free post I would like to talk about our teams baseball season. In the beginning of the year, we were off to a good start, and were number 2 in the state at one point after we won a tournament. Our confidence was through the roof. We thought we were un beatable and that we already had a full ride to the state championship. As the season went on, we started to play worse and worse. We all started to hit bad, swing at bad pitches, make errors, etc..
Turner Graham (senior) was one of our captains. He is one of the best players/leaders I have ever played the game of baseball with. One day after practice towards the end of our season, he sat us all down, and locked the door. He gave us one of the most emotional, heartfelt speeches that I have ever heard. This was a good starting point of restarting our minds. Turner started to build up our confidence everyday by doing small things. If I made a bad throw, or swung at a bad pitch, it seemed like he was always there to pick me up.
After this, our season started to go more smoothly. We beat Dunham once and they beat us once. (split) Also, the weekend before the playoffs started, we played the #3 team in 3A (we are @a, which means we are smaller than all schools above 2A) and beat them by one run. This game helped us alot with our confidence and I believe was the turning point in our season for real. We believed we could beat anybody again, and it was perfect timing because we were getting into the playoffs.
Our first game in the playoffs was against the powerhouse Calvary Baptist out of Shreveport. This team is known for there athletics, and usually wins state in every sport they compete in. We traveled to Shreveport as a team, and ended up beating the powerhouse 10-5 out hitting them with 17 hits vs 5. At this point, our adrenaline was through the roof and we actually could taste a state championship.
Our second playoff game was against the even bigger powerhouse, Kinder at home. This team was number 2 in the state, and had a MLB prospect on their team. (this means that they have a kid who might go to Major League Baseball out of highschool.) this was the best team in the state by far to me, and we lost a heart breaker, 9-2.
Our team was speechless after the game. All I felt was sadness and that deep feeling of "What if..". What if I got a hit when I was supposed to when there was a man on second and didn't strike out? Would the game be a whole different ball game?
I felt so sorry for the seniors, and I hugged them all. That night before I went to sleep, I realized something.
You don't have to in state to be a good team. A good team is one that fights through adversity, (which we did), and becomes closer than ever with one another. (which we also did.) Yea, winning state would have been amazing, but I know now, that this 2014 Knights Baseball Team, will always be in my heart as the best team I ever played with.

Macbeth
fate. Macbeth expresses fate throughout the whole play. In this play, Macbeth is comes off as a nice, trustable guy. He seems like the leader of the crew, or the person everyone looks up to. As we read or watch, we start to notice a change in Macbeth's attitude toward King Duncan and the choices that he makes. Little do we know that Macbeth is about to go on a killing streak.
We notice that throughout the play, Macbeth's fate was not as he intended. He wanted to be "honored, loved, and have friends" but his fate did not allow him to do so. His fate made him become who he "really is" (which is a murderer) and showed us the real side of him.

Quote
"Banquo, thy souls flight, if it find heaven, must find it out tonight." In this quote, Macbeth is saying how Baquo will die that night. This quote is important because it gives us that first amazement that Macbeth wants Banquo gone. After reading this quote, you realize that Macbeth is not a good person, and you cannot argue with it at all.
Macbeth wants Banquo gone because he is afraid Banquo has a chance to take the King position instead of Macbeth himself. Macbeth hires three murderers to kill Banquo and his son while they take a walk one night together. The Murderers kill Banquo, but his son gets away and runs off.

two statements and assessment
3 hours - Nervous Conditions Project
1. "If you are a position of power, you are happy."
A- I strongly agree with this because everyone likes being the king or the one on top. But when you aren't the one on top, you start to complain. King Duncan is an example of this.
2. "Women are more passionate and less violent than men."
A- I disagree and agree at the same time. Women can be more passionate but they can be also more violent than some men. Both of these are true.

Poem
Lights all around me, telling me where to go
I feel like I'm going to heaven.
Even though they have a dim glow,
they are almost as bright as a Kevin.
Lights everywhere, lights nowhere,
they help me feel comfortable when I lie here.
I feel like I'm going to heaven.
Even though they have a dim glow,
they are almost as bright as a Kevin.
Lights everywhere, lights nowhere,
they help me feel comfortable when I lie here.
Rihanna and Jay Z- Umbrella
In this song, I notice many techniques that we use in class. After reading the lyrics to this song, I noticed one technique right off the back. The caesura technique is used throughout this whole song. I have spotted many commas throughout the middle of the lines in this song. Although the lyrics are meant to be sung, they would make a great poetry entry.
Also, I see a phrase that is in the chorus that is very hard to say over and over again. In another words, its a tongue twister. "Under my Umbrella ella ella" is very hard to say over and over again. This song is a very good poem and I don't think it was even meant to be one! If read right, this song can display many of the techniques we have learned in class.

Research list
This week, I want to go through all my bibliography citations, and take out any that aren't helpful to me at all. Then, I would like to replace these with new, better topics. Whats the point of having bad topics when there are better ones out there? After I find better topics, I will start to work on my notecards. Notecards help me realize the big picture. Notecards are like small thesis's about all your bibliographies and thats pretty cool.

Prompt: Evil by Deven
Evil is a bad thing. I see evil as not listening, not caring, and hurting people emotionally and physically. Ever since I was 12 i actually knew what evil was. Before then, I had no idea. When 12 struck me, i was sitting in class thinking to myself about this one kid in my grade. (not saying names). I thought about all the stuff he does, and how I am totally not like that at all. He talked back to teachers, he didn't have any friends, he even was mean to other kids. This one kid help me realize that everyone is not alike. There will be people in your life that are who they are and you'll just have to deal with it. Evil is bad, and if you feel it coming upon yourself, you should stop doing whatever you're doing.

My National History day project is on Egyptian Rights and History. I have learned so much over this school year about this topic. Did you know, the Egypt is the first state to ever become a state? This dating back to the 10th millennium B.C.? Even though Egypt might be the oldest, they aren't the wisest. Egypt has had political problems since it was initiated a state. Many of these problems have to deal with women and their rebellion against Egyptian government. These women believe that they don't have as many rights as the men do, therefore, the are causing a ruckus and rebelling against their own government to fight(with words) to get the rights they want.

My National History Day project is on Egyptian Rights and History. This project has taught me so much in the past few months about Egypt and its works. Although all countries are different, Egypt’s problems with rights and
government deal with women rights. Egypt is the oldest state in the world
dating back to the 10th millennium B.C.. All of these characteristics about Egypt define what type of state Egypt really is.

Sneaux Day Free Post
These past couple of snow days has been living poo for me. Virtual school is the worst thing ever invented. I woke up, ate, did my virtual school day and then it was already dark and I didn't get to play in the snow. I was really mad. Also, virtual school is really hard because to ask a question, you have to email the teacher you cannot just ask her. Plus, virtual school puts everyone behind.
Other than the virtual school, I loved the break. I played outside, in the dark, and had a ice ball fight with my neighbor. My dog loved all of it more than me though. He swam in my pool while it was SNOWING. I do not know how he didn't freeze. These snow days were fun, but missing school can make everyone feel behind and start stressing.
