What would happen in a world where it was the child's choice to go to school? Would you go to school?
In a world like this, there would be no education. Children do not know right from wrong. All the way up until 4th grade, I thought school was pointless, but now, I know there is a real reason behind it. If you want to succeed in life, you have to go to school to learn.
I personally, don't know what I would do. It depends on what age I am.

Writing Center Experience
This semester, we had two major papers to write. Our "Literacy Narrative" and our "Literary Analysis." Our class spent a lot of time on these papers. I feel like my class in general worked extra hard on these papers because almost everybody asks questions in class about them. If you ask questions, it becomes clearer to you when they get answered by your teacher.
The Writing Center is a great tool available for Episcopal students.. This center is made up of very smart, english-loving students who want to help you write your paper. I attended this center twice this semester. My person that helped me was Aly. She is very smart and I feel like the Writing Center helped me overall want to help other people and it even helped improve my paper grade.

I went to the Saints game in New Orleans last week. I really do not go to many Saints games, but my friend had tickets so we decided that we would go. Before the game, we tailgated all day with my friends mom, ( she is very funny) and then went on into the game. There were so many people there, that I almost got lost.
The Mercedes Benz Superdome is one of the most awesome places I have ever been. It is huge! When the crowd gets loud, it is louder than Tiger Stadium no doubt. It was a really fun experience and I look forward to going back. Especially with my friend and his family!

Prompt
In what ways do you think the author of "Lord of the Flies" foreshadows the ending throughout the book?
Throughout the first part of the book, the author makes Jack look like a mysterious, evil guy. Because the author does this, I think that Jack has a master plan to take over the group of kids. Why would the author have him come across as evil and then not use him as a foreshadowing tool?

Our football team is 10-0. Episcopal High School's football team has never done that before. Ever. In the history of Episcopal, the football team has never wenT 10-0. We have accomplished so much together and bond as a team so greatly. When someone falls, or gets hurt, the next person is always ready to step up. We stick as a team, and fight as a team no matter what.
We have a chance of winning the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP this year. I was just in New Orleans at the New Orleans Saints game in the super dome, and I thought to myself how cool it would be to play in that exact stadium. The stadium that Drew Brees calls his "home." I hope we make it there and I also hope we win! I have heard that winning state with a team that you are close to is the best feeling of your whole life. I want to be able to experience that. #geauxknights

Reflection
In class thursday, we did a simulation on what it would be like to be stranded in the wild with no grownups. I feel like what happened in class, is nothing compared to what would actually happen in real life. There would be way more chaos and confusion. In class, we picked a leader with a small amount of chaos. In real life, I feel like everyone would want to be the leader and there would be fighting over who got to be leader.
We also chose many other jobs for differenT people to do. In class, everyone just agreed to what everyone else had to say. In real life, I feel like EVERYONE would want to do one thing. Real life cannot compare to a classroom at all. There would be people going crazy, tears, blood, and sweat everywhere. It is very hard to simulate a near death experience.

In these reading assignments, I have noticed that there have been a lot of store about women. Maybe I am the only person that sees this, but I see it loud and clear. I don't understand why we read about women. Also, I have noticed that most of all these stories were written in the mid 1900's.
Annotating really confuses me. There are so many ways to annotate and I always get confused on what we are supposed to do. Also, these stories are very hard to understand and it makes you think hard about what is actually going on in the story. If the stories weren't as confusing, I would like this reading book a lot better.

Voice of Character
I really wish i wasn't as rich as I am now. I mean, money is good and all, but sometimes it just gets old and I get bored. I don't know how I get bored from all the stuff I have. I guess nothing last forever. Even happiness.
I really miss my Grandmother. She passed away two years ago and me and her were tight. We used to cook together and talk about stuff that I didn't talk to my parents about. I miss her.
I really love baseball. I could not live without it. Baseball, to me, is the hardest sport to ever be played. To play, you have to know pretty much everyones; job on the field. Plus, you can have different situations every single time the ball is put in play. It doesn't take a genius, but you can't be stupid because you have to know ALOT.
When I think about how much I love my family, I don't think I love them enough. When I am staying with my parents, since both of my sisters are grown up, they annoy me. As soon as I leave though, and go stay with my grandparents, I start to like them more and I realize how lucky I am.
yeah, I drive a Bugatti, so what? I am not the only one. I hate when people call me a rich slob. I am very humble and they do not know how much I would love to be in their shoes.

Towards the end of the book, Deep Zone, Ty finally earns a spot on the 7 on 7 team. He hopes that this is a way to show people how talented he is. Thane, his older brother, encourages him to do this. Ty and his team end up making the Superbowl playoffs and surprises many people.
Honestly, there are not many questions that I need answered in this book. The author does a great job of explaining everything that he has to explain for the book to work. By far, this is my favorite book that I have read. Plan to see more sports themed books from me! Especially Tim Green.

My football playing experience has gotten much better. Last Friday, the 13th, we played St. John. St. John is a class 1A school. They are considered a powerhouse though, so we didn't take the game lightly. Before the game started, all of the St. John players were talking trash on twitter and other social media. As a joke, our whole football team went and liked their posts to let them know that we saw it.
So it was game time, and adrenaline was high. I didn't know what to expect from this team. I was worried that because of the twitter talk, there would be a full out brawl during the game between both teams, but we stayed calm. St. John got penalized many times throughout the game for unnecessary roughness. They were just mad that we beat them 36-15 at there own field. After the game, I was relieved and felt really good for winning, but also for shutting up the players on the other team.

Ty, the main character of the book, is a very curious person. He always questions things, good or bad. Ty's brother, Thane, is in the NFL. Ty looks up to his big brother very much. While Ty and his family were sitting at one of Thane's games, Thane tore his ACL. They went to the hospital and Ty spent the night there but still had to go to school the next day.
I always wonder what Thane's background was. Did he like football as a little kid? Or did he start playing in highschool and just really liked it and wanted to play at the next level? All these questions roll through my mind as I read this book. Hopefully they will be answered toward the end of the book.

Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life
Jeremy and his friend, Lizzy, are hanging out when they hear a doorbell. Jeremy sees a box labeled, "FOR JEREMY FINK TO OPEN ON HIS 13TH BIRTHDAY." Right then and there, I was curious as to what was in that box. This book does a good job so far on making you curious about things. This book gives you a lot of questions.
So, Jeremy and Lizzy find out that there are four key slots on the box. They do not know here the keys are. I wonder why the keys weren't on the box. Were they hidden on purpose by Jeremy's long lost dad? Were the keys accidentally dropped by the Mailman? Jeremy and Lizzy are determined to fingf out where these four keys are so that he can actually open the box on his 13 birthday at the end of the summer.

Yesterday, I went to the LSU vs AUB game. During the week, i decided that I was going to invite to of my friends from school. So, on Thursday, I called both of them and told them to ask their parents if they could go to the game with me Saturday then hangout that night. Both of my friends could go so I was ready for Saturday. On that Friday night, EHS played North Vermillion Highschool and we won! After the EHS win, I was pumped for Saturday even more.
I woke up Saturday morning at 7:45 and went to football practice. I got home around 11am and then called my friends for them to come over. They got there and we got ready then left. When we got there, I called some of my other friends from different schools to see where they were. We walked to the Union and everyone was there. We hung out there until it was time to go to the game.

As you read in my last blog, I was not done with my book. I was to the point where Micheal was getting in some trouble for his birth certificate. Well anyways, Micheal is a die hard baseball player. Since I started the book, I have always wanted to know about Micheal's parents. Why did they leave him? Why is he in a foster home? All these questions just started hitting me about three quarters through the book. I want them answered.
I wonder how Micheal became such a good baseball player. Did he play when he was younger? when did he start playing? ALthough this book answered many questions I had, it still left those lingering questions ion the back of my mind. I loved this book and I would recommend it to anybody that loves mysterious things.

Yesterday, my friends and I decided that we were going to ride four wheelers. So, we goy a ride to the gas station to get gas. As I was filling up the tanks, I see my friend from school. We talk and then he leaves. Anyways, after I'm done filling the gas tanks, we start to head back excitedly. When we get to my house, we fill up the four wheelers with gas and put some air in the tires then we are ready to go.
We started around my house, just riding around on grass, then we transitioned to mudding, which is the most fun thing you will ever do. I have some woods behind my house, so we just went back there and tried to find some mud. We ended up finding a HUGE mud hole and we tore it up for 30 minutes straight. After we mudded, we looked at the ground. It was very torn up. We decided that we would just put some grass on top of the ruts, and it would eventually go away. That was my sunday.

Last Friday (the 23rd) our football team scrimmaged Tara Highschool. Since I'm a freshman, I didm't know what to expect. Will they be to big to handle? Will they be small and fast? I didm't know. Before our scrimmage started, I looked up pictures of the Tara football team. They were HUGE. One thing about huge guys is they are sometimes slow. So, I was worried and not worried at the same time.
School ended, and it was time. I went straight to the locker room and changed. I put my headphones on and tarted to get in the zone. I was told that I should get taped before the game because it helps support your bones. So, I went and got taped by the one and only Mr. Dean. After getting in the zone and eating a granola bar, Tara arrived. We started to warm up out on the practice field the the time came. We started the scrimmage. I ended up not doing that bad and only got ran over once.

In this book so far, Mike Lupica (author) has done a great job. I think that this book is very open. I did not have many questions about the book. Usually when I read, I have many questions. I wonder why Michael's dad was under age. Why did he have Michael while he was that young? ANyway, Michael is a very talented boy and has the option to be a great baseball player.
Michael is a very strong kid, emotionally and physically. Michael is yet to go into a foster home because he doesn't want to. He doesn't have a birth certificate so he is living illegally in the United States. I'm hoping Michael can actually play baseball and becomes a legal immigrant to the United States. He could have a lot of potential.

I really like music. Music inspires me to write all the time. I listen to music before and after sporting events. Music helps me get pumped up for things like sports or math competitions. My favorite song is Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts. The type of genre I listen to depends on the time I am listening. For example, if it is before a big football or baseball game, I listen to rap. After sporting events, or on road trips, I like to listen to country or classic rock. The kind of music I listen to helps to get through everyday life. Music also helps me get through hard times. Music helps me express myself in many different ways.

I wonder why Beatrice picked Dauntless in the first place. Why didn't she go back to abnegation in the first place? Her whole family was in that faction. I also wonder why the old guy on the street tried to scare her. This book kept many of my questions unanswered. Divergent is a very mysterious book. Also, why would you have to cut yourself and drip blood into big tubs? Why couldn't you just pick one? Was it tradition? Also while beatrice was training as a dauntless human being, why did she fall in love with a dauntless person? Did she pick Dauntless just because the guys there were cute? We will never know this as a reader of this book. While reading this, there were so many questions I had that just couldn't be answered. One thing I noticed was that Beatrice's mom was very sad after Beatrice picked Dauntless.
